MK Vc Spitfire cockpit section

For Sale: Rebuilt Supermarine Spitfire Mk Vc Cockpit Section

This is a rebuilt Supermarine Spitfire Mk Vc cockpit section, reconstructed from the remains of an ex-RAAF aircraft that saw combat operations against Japanese forces during World War II.

The original data plate—though rusted—has been examined by a specialist firm, who identified the build number as CBAF 4817. Additional original components recovered include the pilot’s head rest armor plate, which still bears the RAF stencil MH307. This corresponds to RAAF serial A58-247, which served with 79 Squadron RAAF, coded UP-P, we believe.

This cockpit has been meticulously rebuilt by the current owner—a long-time Spitfire enthusiast and collector—working alongside a professional aircraft sheet metal worker. The result is a highly detailed static display piece, suitable for museum exhibition or even simulator integration.

The section spans from the firewall (frame 5) to behind the cockpit (frame 14), and includes numerous original components, such as:

  • Original Mk V windscreen

  • Spade control grip

  • Instruments

  • Air Ministry switches and fittings

  • Flap control/valve, blow-down bottle, and more (too much to list)

Included in the sale is the original firewall (frame 5) along with the data plate.
